5 Easy Ways to Motivate Yourself To Work Out | Chasing Cinderella

Happy Friday! After a month hiatus from working out, I am finally starting to attempt to get back into shape. It is never easy to get back into exercising (the first couple of weeks are always the hardest for me), so I thought I would share with y'all some of the things that are helping motivate me to get back into it!

5 Easy Ways to Motivate Yourself to Work Out

Bumble BFF | Chasing Cinderella

#1 - Set Goals For Yourself

Having a goal to work towards will make working out a little bit easier! Whether it be the distance you run, how many times a week you go to the gym, or even the amount of weight you lose, having a goal will keep you motivated on this workout journey! I know for me, once I start seeing results, it makes me want to keep at it even more!

Pro Tip: Have a reward (or two) in place that you can work towards! Every time you reach a goal/milestone, reward yourself! Whether it be something small like going out for ice cream or something bigger like buying a new workout outfit, it will make reaching your goals that much more satisfying.

#2 - Cute Workout Clothes

Speaking of a new workout outfit: What gets you more motivated than a new outfit?! I don't know about you, but when I buy a new cute outfit, I want to show it off! This is a silly step, but it has actually worked for me! I'm not going to spend money on workout clothes and not wear them, ya know?! My entire look is from Onzie

#3 - Find A Class/Exercise You Enjoy

I've heard this is a huge motivator, but this is not coming from experience for me! (I personally hate going to workout classes, I prefer to go for a run and do some strength exercise from the comfort of my home.) But if you're not like me, definitely find a class you like! I've heard great things about Orange Theory and the like! Also signing up (and paying) for classes will definitely motivate you to attend and keep you accountable!

#4 - Save Podcasts For Your Workout

This tip may seem super random and ridiculous, but it has worked for me! I save listening to my podcasts for my runs, and I look forward to listening to them every morning. Podcasts are always a great way to keep your mind off the workout, so I highly recommend them for cardio exercises!

See my favorite podcasts here. I also can't get enough of the Almost Famous podcasts! If you love the Bachelor franchise, I highly recommend this one!

#5 - Find A Workout Partner

Sometimes the hardest part of working out is getting off of the couch. That's why you need to find yourself someone who will work out with you and keep you accountable! That's where Bumble comes in! Did you know that Bumble isn't just a dating app?! You can also search for girlfriends in your area to hang out with (ie. go to the gym with)!

So there you have it! I'm sure there are many other conventional ways to motivate yourself to work out more, but these are the things that have been helping me the most! What motivates you to workout?! I mentioned above that I am not a fan of workout classes, but do you have any that you love? I think I may need to give them another shot!

Thanks so much for reading! xo

  6. First of all, this is the cutest workout ensemble EVER. I love the strappy back of the sports bra and the pattern on the leggings. So adorable. Also, wishing you lived closer so we could work out together. I tried Bumble BFF and never heard back from any of the girls I reached out to. Such a bummer :(
