How To Shop Shein

How To Shop From Shein - Chasing Cinderella

A common question that I get asked pretty regularly is whether or not to trust overseas stores like Shein. My answer is: it depends! They have a huge selection of items and prices are amazing, but there are a few cons as well. Sizing is always tricky, shipping takes awhile, and returns can be difficult. I have had huge success with Shein, as well as some disappointments. Because of this, I wanted to share some tips with you so that you can have the best experience shopping with Shein.

How To Shop Shein

1. Read the Reviews

For almost all of the items there will be customer reviews! Read them very carefully! They will give you tons of insight on how the item looks, fits, etc! Honestly if an item doesn't have any reviews, I wouldn't risk it. Some of the reviews sometimes have photos attached too!

2. Find Photos

Photos of someone wearing the actual item is a huge help when deciding if the item is legit! Whether seeing it on a blogger, a friend, or photos within the reviews, it can tell you what the item really looks like in person! You can ask what size their wearing/ how it fits, etc! Some items even have a "Style Gallery" that may be filled with bloggers wearing said item. You can see me wearing a dress from Shein under the Style Gallery here.

3. Be Careful with "One Size Fits All"

Some of the items will be "one size fits all." I would be careful with that because honestly one size will not fit all! And I have learned that when it says one size fits all, it's usually on the smaller size! If you are really in love with a one size fits all item, follow tips 1 and 2 before purchasing.

4. Pay for Expedited Shipping

Oversees shops can take forever (about three weeks) for you to get your order. You're already getting a huge discount on these clothes, so it will be worth it to spend a little extra money on shipping!

Coming from experience, when it comes to handbags, you're usually in the clear and what you see is what you get! When purchasing clothing or bathing suits, I would definitely use my above tips before purchasing! I hope this was helpful, and if you have any other questions, feel free to send me a DM on Instagram for the quickest response!

Thanks so much for reading! xo

  4. They definitely have affordable pieces, but the quality is so hit or miss! Plus after watching a documentary about fast fashion and their *terrible* practices, I try not to shop from places like that anymore!
