Your Ultimate Guide To Binge Watching TV Shows

Your Ultimate Guide To Binge Watching TV Shows | Chasing Cinderella

If you read my birthday post you know that I love tv.. maybe a little bit too much! I watch way too much of it and decided that it was time for me to share the love! I have compiled some of the best bing watching tv shows that I have seen/are on my list to watch in hopes to help y'all out whenever you are looking for a new tv series to binge watch!

NETFLIX
Netflix Originals
Stranger Things: Absolutely recommend this show to everyone! There's only been one season but it's still very binge-worthy! I don't want to say much about it because I don't know how to describe it without giving anything away. But it's kinda creepy and just amazing. A must-watch!

Travelers: Another great show that has only had one season and is a must-watch! The last surviving humans discover how to send consciousness back in time to the 21st century. Inhabiting seemingly random people, the "travelers" work together to try to save the human race. Highly recommend!

Series of Unfortunate Events: This series follows the tragic tale of three orphans -- Violet, Klaus, and Sunny Baudelaire -- who are investigating their parents' mysterious death. If you read the books, or saw the movie, I recommend watching this fun series! I'm a huge Neil Patrick Harris fan, so obviously I was totally on board for this show! Only has one season thus far.

House of Cards: A series staring Kevin Spacey that offers a look behind the scenes at the greed and corruption in American politics. If you enjoy political drama, then you should definitely check this series out! Cab is a huge fan! Four seasons thus far.

Orange is the New Black: Based on the book series, the show follows a woman named Piper Chapman who is sentenced to spend time in a minimum-security women's prison in Connecticut for her association with a drug runner 10 years earlier. I've only seen the first season (they now have four) but it is very entertaining! Four seasons thus far.

The Crown: I haven't watched this one yet, but I've heard great things! It is a drama that chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times. Apparently it takes a few episodes to get into it, so push through the first two episodes! One season thus far.

The OA: Another one that I haven't watched yet, but it is on my list! It's about a women who returns home after vanishing seven years prior, and has mysterious abilites. I have been reading so much about it on social media so I'm definitely going to make time for this one! One season thus far.

Peaky Blinders: My dad watches this show and loves it! It revolves around a notorious gang in 1919 Birmingham, England, that is led by a crime boss set on moving up in the world no matter the cost. If you're into gangster drama from the 1920's then you should definitely check this show out! Three seasons thus far.

Narcos: I have yet to watch this show but it is on my list! Netflix takes on the infamous Medellín drug cartel in "Narcos," which follows the rise and fall of Colombian kingpin Pablo Escobar and the Drug Enforcement Agency agents hunting him. Two seasons thus far.

Oldies But Goodies
Prison Break: Cab and I binge watched this in college and I absolutely loved it! The series revolves around two brothers. One brother has been sentenced to death for a crime he did not commit, and the other devises an elaborate plan to help his brother escape prison and clear his name. The previous four seasons ended in 2009 but they are coming out with a new season in April (yay!)!! You still have time to catch up if you are dedicated enough!

Sons of Anarchy: This is a show that I was very sad that ended! It's a motorcycle club drama that follows around single father Jax Teller (Charlie Hunnam) who finds his loyalty to his outlaw motorcycle club tested by his growing unease concerning the group's lawlessness. It seriously is SUCH a great show and recommend it to everyone, even if you don't think you'd be into the whole motorcycle gang thing! The series ended in 2014 with seven seasons.

The Following: If you like psychedelic thrillers and don't mind violence, this show is for you! Kevin Bacon stars as a former FBI agent trying to track down a serial killer who is fixated on Edger Allen Poe. I couldn't stop watching once is started! The series ended with three seasons.

Lost: I would be surprised if you haven't seen/heard about Lost, but just in case you haven't here you go: After their place crashes on a deserted island, a diverse group of people must adapt to their new home and contend with the island's enigmatic forces. A couple of the episodes in the later seasons get a little weird, but trust me, stick with it! The series ended with six seasons.

Weeds: Weeds was one of my favorite shows to watch during college! It's about a suburban mother who starts selling marijuana to her neighbors so she can maintain her comfortable lifestyle after her husband's sudden death. The series ended with eight seasons.

Also! If you like to work with the tv on in the background like I do, some of my favorite shows to put on are Friends, The Office, Parks & Recreation, That 70s Show, and Gilmore Girls. These are all shows that I love, but don't require your full attention! They are also great to fall asleep to at night!

HULU
Hulu Originals
11.22.63: The reason I was drawn to this series in the first place is because it was created by Stephen King and J.J. Abrams! This eight episode series stars James Franco, who is given the opportunity to travel back in time, with a mission to stop the assassination of John F. Kennedy on Nov. 22, 1963, and solving one of the biggest mysteries of the 20th century. Jake quickly learns that the past does not want to be changed, and that his attempts to divert the course of history can quickly turn dangerous.

Chance: I haven't had the chance to watch this yet, but it's a provocative psychological thriller that stars Huge Laurie, so I'm sold! It's about a San Francisco-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who reluctantly gets sucked into a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity, police corruption and mental illness. One season thus far.

The Path: This is another series that I have yet to watch, but plan on it! The Path follows a family at the center of a controversial cult movement as they struggle with relationships, faith and power. Each episode takes an in-depth look at the gravitational pull of belief and what it means to choose between the life we live and the life we want. The series blends elements of mystery-thriller, romance and the supernatural. It is currently on its second season.

Shows
Vikings: My best friend watches this show and says that I would love it! It portrays what it was really like to live in the world of the Viking. This scripted drama will use real characters from history to humanize the Viking and authentically re-create the Viking Age. This is on Cab and my "to watch" list! There are four seasons thus far.

Wayward Pines: This is a show that I really enjoyed! It's a psychological, mind-bending thriller about a mysterious small town in Idaho called Wayward Pines. Visitors and natives of the unusual town struggle to understand the complex origins of Wayward Pines, what the town really is -- and if there is a way to get out. As explosive and shocking events unfold, it becomes clear that a civil war is emerging, and that the human race is in danger. There are two seasons thus far.

Oldies but Goodies
Alias: I watched Alias with my mom off and on while I was growing up! It seemed like a cool show, but I was definitely too young to get into it, but my mom LOVED it! It stars Jennifer Garner and was created by J. J. Abrams. It's about a young who travels around the world incognito. Fighting the bad guys. Wrestling with inner demons. These are typical of her not-so-typical job as a secret agent. The series ended in 2006 with five seasons.

The OC: I actually didn't get into The OC until my college roommate made we watch it, and I fell in love! The show revolves around a group of friends and families, whose lives are forever changed when an outsider arrives to their affluent community of Newport Beach in Orange County, California.  There is a total of four seasons!

Dawson's Creek: I am embarrassed to say that I have never watched Dawson's Creek, but I plan on binge watching all six seasons after I'm finished with Gilmore Girls (I have a season and a half to go! It's a provocative drama about the coming-of-age of a group of teenage best friends in a small New England coastal town. I may be 26 years old, but I can't wait to get started on the series!

You will also be happy to know that all of the Kardashian series' are on Hulu! Including Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kort and Kim take NY, Kort and Kim take Miami, and Kort and Khole take the Hampton's!

HBO GO
Shows I Recommend
Game of Thrones: I didn't get into Game of Thrones until about a year and a half ago. Cab and I decided to watch the first episode after work one night (he had watched a few before), and the rest is history. I am not exaggerating when I saw we watched five seasons in a month and a half.. it was pretty impressive (and kind of concerning)! It was also very frustrating when we had to watch the 6th season with everyone else, having to wait each week for the next episode! Anyways, I personally think everyone should watch this series, even if you don't think you would.. My mom is even hooked! There are six seasons thus far.

True Detective: Such a great show! There are two seasons out thus far, but they are separate stories with different characters. Without giving too much away, this is a crime series where the detectives are trying unearth the secrets of those involved. Season one stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson and Season two stars Vince Vaughn, Collin Farrell,  and Rachel McAdams. The first season is way better than the second, but both are great!

The Night Of: It's an eight episode series about a complex New York City murder case with cultural and political overtones. A night that begins innocently for Pakistani-American college student Nasir "Naz" Khan turns horrific after he meets a mysterious young woman. Cab and I both really enjoyed this show! Each episode kept you wanting more!

Westworld: A must watch! Westworld isn't your typical amusement park. Intended for rich vacationers, the futuristic park -- which is looked after by robotic "hosts" -- allows its visitors to live out their fantasies through artificial consciousness. No matter how illicit the fantasy may be, there are no consequences for the park's guests, allowing for any wish to be indulged. There is one season thus far.

Shows I've Heard Great Things About
The Leftovers: This is a show that my brother loves, but I have yet to get into! 140 million people disappeared without a trace and three years later, people try to maintain equilibrium when the notion of "normal" no longer applies. There are two seasons thus far.

Oldie but Goodie
True Blood: If you are a Vampire Diaries fan then you will love True Blood! It follows the life of Small-town Louisiana waitress Sookie Stackhouse, who is viewed as an oddball by her friends and neighbors, since she can read the minds of those around her. She then falls in love with a Vampire and the rest is history! I haven't made it through all seven seasons yet, but I will get to it!

New to HBO
Big Little Lies: This is a series that literally just came out on HBO (there's only one episode out right now) and I can't wait to get started on it! It tells the tale of three mothers of first graders, whose apparently perfect lives unravel to the point of murder, staring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, and Shailene Woodley.

Woo that was a lot! And sadly, I could add many more binge watching tv shows to this list. But for now I will leave you with these! And now my question for you is: what tv shows do you binge watch? I'm always looking for any recommendations to add to my endless list of shows to watch!

Thanks so much for reading! xo
