A Winter of Faux Fur

Winter of faux fur

VEST: Old, similar here and here // SWEATER: Old Navy // JEANS: Express // BOOTIES: Target

You're going to be seeing a lot of faux fur on Chasing Cinderella this winter. Faux fur is my favorite way to dress up any outfit-- it just adds a little something-something.. ya know? My faux fur vests were a staple in my wardrobe when I was at college in South Carolina, and nothing has changed since i've moved back home to Maryland.

Fall in Maryland is pretty "wishy-washy." One day it will be in the 40s, and the next day it will be a high of 70 degrees. This is miserable for a lover of boots and sweaters, like myself. I thought I was finished with the warm fall weather when I came back north from South Carolina.. WRONG. But I think it's finally safe to say that it has cooled down up here, and it is officially boots (& booties) and sweater weather! *Insert excited faced emoji here*

I am not ashamed to admit that I have at least six different faux fur vests hanging in my closet, all in differing colors. It is such a versatile item of clothing, and there are endless styling possibilities. You can wear it with a sweater and jeans (like I did here), or my favorite is to wear it over a long-sleeved dress with over-the-knee boots.

I have a confession: I am obsessed with the Georgia-based fashion boutique Hope's. A lot of the clothes you will see me wearing (including this vest) will be from Hope's. Some of the clothing I wear may be old/sold out, but I will try my best to find something similar and link the item at the end of each post.

Thanks so much for reading! xo

  1. All you need is to layer up, without letting the dreary weather spoil your style. And once you get the hang of styling winter clothing, you will love the season for all the reasons it offers to cozy up. designer outlet sales
